Mino Tsuchida, affectionately known as Mr. Global, embarked on his journey of exporting Global Knives in 1990, becoming the worldwide face of this renowned brand. Beyond his business endeavours, Mino devoted himself wholeheartedly to sharing his passion and expertise for knives and sharpening with cooks and chefs across the globe, captivating them with countless demonstrations.
Mino's impact extended far beyond technical brilliance; it was his profound humility and boundless generosity that left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Chefs, enthusiasts, and colleagues alike were enchanted by his warm demeanour, and he became a mentor, friend, and an unwavering source of inspiration for countless individuals who shared his love for the culinary arts.
Notably, Mino's compassion knew no bounds. On his 80th birthday, he displayed his selflessness by generously donating a £12,800 birthday gift cheque to UNICEF, a charity close to his heart. This act of kindness exemplified his commitment to making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
UNICEF Children's Charity, known for its tireless efforts across 190 countries, strives to reach and care for the most vulnerable children and adolescents, ensuring they not only survive but thrive to achieve their full potential.
In a touching memorial tribute to Mino, Global Knives have produced six limited edition block sets, with all proceeds being dedicated to UNICEF Children's Charity. This noble initiative further honours Mino's wishes and reinforces his legacy of supporting this incredible charitable organisation.
The limited-edition block is comprised of iconic Global Knives, such as: G-2 Cook’s Knife, GS-61 Bread Knife, GS-11 Flexible Utility Knife, GS-5 Vegetable Chopper, and GS-38 Paring Knife.
